Day 81 of 1,461 (or 2,922)

  • The War on Drugs is coming back. This is a disaster.
  • I suspect that historians will see Mitch McConnell as the most consequential Republican politician of the early 21st century. The damage he’s caused will not be repaired in my lifetime, if ever.
  • Republican Projection Exhibit #93,294,201: Trump has blown past President Obama’s annual travel budget in just 80 days.
  • Trump is financially benefiting from the worthless missile strike he ordered. If we know it, he could know it too. The presidency has been desecrated.
  • Some weird things are brewing in the special election to replace Mike Pompeo. I’m not expecting much, but it’s a nice sign that the Republicans are scrambling. (Notice how many of Trump’s Cabinet officials came from the House? It might be tactically smarter to appoint House members rather than governors like President Obama did. Of course, President Obama would have considered ability more than politics.)
  • If every member of the DEMOCRATIC ESTABLISHMENT were like Rahm, I might concede the argument to the anti-Democratic leftists. He sucks.
  • April 9 was the 162nd anniversary of Robert E. Lee’s surrender in the best war that America ever fought. It should be a national holiday.
  • I’m not sure if Tesla is more valuable than General Fucking Motors.
  • Merriam-Webster debunks a lot of cute but false etymologies. Beware of acronyms!
  • “Cannibalism Study Finds People Are Not That Nutritious.”
